Joel Obi is one of several players Inter Milan will release in the summer and his likely destination could well be Atalanta.
According to reports from the Corriere di Bergamo, Inter coach Roberto Mancini is set to offload some players in the current squad and Nigeria midfielder Obi falls in that category.
He may now join Atalanta next season as a replacement for Baselli and Cigarini, who are widely tipped to move on in the summer.
Reports in Turkey also claim Emmanuel Emenike’s club,Fenerbahce are hot on Obi’s heels with a contract.
The reigning Turkish Super Lig kings are willing to offer around 5 million pounds which is said to be the Nigerian’s release clause at Inter Milan.
Emmanuel Emenike will help persuade him to join them.
This season he has turned out 10 times in the Serie A scoring his first career goal in November against AC Milan, while in the Europa League he played five times.
