Australia defender Stephanie Catley has expressed her concerns about facing the Super Falcons following the Nigerian ladies’ performance against Sweden ahead of their clash on Friday.
The Falcons had to come back twice to hold 2003 World Cup finalist Sweden to a 3-3 draw on Monday.
Catley who featured in their 3-1 loss to the United States, told footballaustralia.com.au that the Falcons possess quality players who could cause problems.
“I thought they were really good in their first game. I enjoyed watching them play. They are really explosive, strong and really quite good on the ball. They definitely have a few key players that we will be watching closely,” Catley said.
She however stated that they will try to replicate the performance they put up against the United States to stand a chance of overcoming the Falcons.
She said: “We have to work on putting on a performance like the one against the US for the entire 90 minutes. We need to keep to our structure and remain calm on the ball, and try to control the tempo to the way we want to play.”
And despite the 3-1 loss in their opening game, Catley praised her team-mates for putting up a good performance.
“We were pretty happy about our first 45 minutes against the US. I think we played some really good football. We were able to dominate parts of that game.”Watch The Premier League Live!! with EXPRESSVPN the #1 Trusted Name in VPN
