Flying Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi has expressed his heartfelt apology to friend and teammate Godwin Saviour following the manner of his goal celebration in the game against Hungary.
Manu Garba’s team defeated the Europeans 2-0 to confirm their second place in the Group E of the 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup behind Brazil. Awoniyi grabbed his first goal of the tournament after a good work from Saviour who crossed the ball from the right wing for him to latch unto and score from the near post.
In celebrating his goal, Awoniyi shoved Saviour aside in that moment, though the assist maker and captain Musa Mohammed who initiated the move that led to the goal with a defence-splitting pass joined the beanpole striker eventually to celebrate.
However Awoniyi felt the need to say sorry to his pal through Facebook writing:
“Saviour that’s born to save, no be my fault: na the pressure of the happiness.
“So sorry, my surest nigga, about the jubilation. Did’t even notice…one love Padi,” the player who has a pre-contract with Swedish side Kalmar FF wrote.
Awoniyi told Completesportsnigeria.com after his exploits at the African U20 Youth Championship that he has a lot of clubs pushing for his signature but that he is not in hurry to sign for any team yet.PROFITABLE FOREX TRADING; We GUARANTEE 37% weekly profit trading your forex account for you!
