Awoniyi: My Goals Will Come

By Izuchukwu Okosi:

Flying Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi is unperturbed by his lack of goals in the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.

Awoniyi has not scored in Nigeria's two games so far but has been instrumental in the side's attacking play, contributing two fine assists against North Korea on Thursday.

"What is most important is that the team wins and qualifies from the group," Awoniyi told completesportsnigeria.com.

"I'm happy to have contributed my quota towards the victory against Korea DPR. I look forward to scoring for the team but the most important thing is that we progress to the knock out stages."

The Flying Eagles' last group game is against Hungary on Sunday, 6am Nigerian time.

Awoniyi is again expected to lead the line in the game against the Europeans.
