Kano State government Thursday evening named Tukur Babangida as the new chairman of the management board of Kano Pillars Football Club, a Nigeria Professional Football League side, Completesportsnigeria.com
Babangida, a former Nigeria Football Federation NFF executive committee member, was at the helm of affairs when the Sai Mau Gida side won the league title in 2008 and reached the semi final of the CAF Champions League in 2009, following a 5-0 aggregate defeat by Heartland of Owerri.

Babangida replaces Kabiru Baita whose board was sacked by Governor Ganduje on Monday.
"Babangida Tukur has been appointed as Kano Pillars new chairman," an official of the club told Completesportsnigeria.com
"We've finished a meeting to that effect and it would be announced to the people of the state this night, say by 7pm," the official added.
He added that there are other five other members in the new board.
