By Johnny Edward:
Leon Balogun is disappointed at the manner his side, FSV Mainz surrendered a two goal lead in their 3-2 home loss to Cologne on Sunday.
The defeat was their second in their last eight games. Goals from Marcel Risse, Milos Jojic and a winner from Anthony Modeste condemned Mainz to their 11th defeat of the season.
The Nigeria international had doubled Mainz's lead at the start of the second half after Jhon Cordoba had shot the hosts into the lead in the eight minute.
Balogun leapt high to powerfully head home Daniel Brosinski's wonderful cross from a free-kick past Timo Horn, in goal for Cologne, but he has rued his side's inability to secure another win to brighten their chances of qualifying for the Europa League next season.
"Can't even remember the last I've been that disappointed," the Nigerian defender tweeted via his handle @LeonBalogun.
The 27 year old Balogun has starred for Mainz in 21 Bundesliga games this season.
