Nigeria international, Olayinka Sanni has finally joined First Bank for the remainder of the FIBA Africa Champions Cup for Women 2016 in Maputo, Mozambique, reports Completesportsnigeria.
Sanni missed First Bank’s first three Group B games, but is expected to make her debut when they take on the Kenyan side United States International University (USIU) on Wednesday.
First Bank have recorded two wins in three games despite some inconsistency in their play early in the competition, but Sanni remains confident about their chances.
Sanni told FIBA.com: “They are well prepared and have a great experience.
"We have talented players in the likes of Nkechi [Akashili], Chioma [Udeaja] and Upe [Atosu]. We just need to play together as a team and we could make a great impact,” she said.
On First Bank's nail-biting 66-64 win over GS Petroliers of Algeria on Monday Sanni said: “It's was tough but the team is well prepared and I am here to help and have fun.”
Two-time ACCW winners, First Bank, are currently second in Group B with five points.
