German champions Bayern Munich on Tuesday confirmed the double signing of Mats Hummels from Borussia Dortmund and teenage midfielder Renato Sanches from Benfica.
Centre-back Hummels becomes the third high-profile Bayern signing from rivals Dortmund in recent seasons following the acquisition of Robert Lewandowski and Mario Gotze. Hummels has signed until 2021.
Bayern director Kar-Heinz Rummenigge praised Hummels on the Bayern Twitter handle.
The former Germany star said: “Mats is one of the world’s best centre backs. He will increase the quality of our team even more.”
Sanches, 18, reportedly cost €45m and is expected to be a huge star in future.
Rummenigge said: “Renato Sanches is a dynamic, technically-gifted midfielder who is strong in the tackle and will strengthen our squad.”
