Be’er Sheva Captain Beats Ogu To Israeli League MVP Award

Hapoel Be'er Sheva skipper, Elyaniv Barda, has beaten his teammate John Ogu to the Isreali League player of the season award despite the Nigerian having been instrumental to Be'er Sheva's successful title chase, reports.

Barda unanimously beat Ogu, who was recently voted the Best Foreign Player in Israel and other nominees; Eran Zahavi and Gal Alberman.

Barda polled 64.2% of the votes recieved, according to, compared to 21.4% of the vote credited to Maccabi Tel Aviv's skipper Eran Zahavi.

The 28 year old Nigeria international finished joint third with Alberman with 7.2% apiece.
