EAGLES STARS WELCOME ARSENAL TEST

Some members of the Super Eagles players who ply their trades in the domestic Premier League have expressed delight at the prospect of confronting English Premier League side, Arsenal in a friendly match.

Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Wednesday confirmed that it has arranged an international friendly match between the Super Eagles which will be made up of home based players and Arsenal
on August 5 at the Abuja national Stadium.

“It will be very interesting playing against Arsenal in a friendly match, especially here in Abuja”, offers Papa Idris, Super Eagles defender.

“This is a great team that we have been watching on television so it will be nice for us to play against them”.

Ikechukwu Ibenegbu quipped that such big games will give the players confidence going into the last round of matches for the Nations Cup qualifiers.

“We all saw the impact of the Peru match on the team during the game against Namibia. So playing
against Arsenal of all teams this time around will do the team a world of good and NFF should be highly commended for this”, Ibenegbu who is called Mosquito by his admirers said.

Midfielder Reuben Gabriel told Complete Sports that the players will have a lot to learn from the Gunners.

“The NFF has done well to organize such a big game for us. It is important that we play such big teams and of course we will have a lot of positives to take from it as we prepare for the Nations Cup qualifiers as well as the World Cup qualifiers too”. The Kano Pillars midfielder said.
