GOLDEN EAGLETS EXPECTED IN CAMP NEXT WEEK

Head coach of the Golden Eaglets, Manu Garba, has told Complete Sports that the technical crew are still awaiting the approval of the Nigerian Football Federation to resume the next phase of camping ahead of their CAF U-17 Championship qualifying clash against Niger in September.

He also described the team’s recent camping in Calabar as very successful, following the results they recorded in some of the friendlies and was quick to add that Calabar was fast becoming the new home for the team.

“I think we are on course with our programmes and the boys have shown great improvement over the course of our closed camping here in Calabar,” stated Garba who assisted the late coach Yemi Tella in 2007.

“The generous hospitality given to us by the Cross River State Government has helped us a great deal and hopefully, we will continue our preparation there for our qualifiers in September. The Governor told us that the state is ready to host our subsequent camps and we would be happy to make Calabar our home.”
