Following the victory of General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) in the just concluded Presidential election, there are speculations that former Sports Minister Bolaji Abdullahi could return to the same position in the new regime which will commence on May 29.
Abdullahi who hails from Kwara, one of the states where Buhari got his winning votes from, was pushed out of office in 2013 allegedly due to his association with Senator Bukola Saraki who defected from the ruling party, PDP.
And as an influential member of the All Progressive Congress, the possibility of the sports administrator being picked as the next Sports Minister is on the high side.
Meanwhile, the victory recorded by General Mohammadu Buhari in the election will see some changes in the nation’s sports circles which will definitely affect the present leadership of the National Sports Commission.
Abdullahi who was at the 2013 African Cup of Nations which Nigeria won in South Africa under Coach Stephen Keshi has been adjudged as one of the best Sports Minister in recent times.
