Former Super Eagles technical adviser, Jo Bonfrere, has told completesportsnigeria.com that he is the right man to lead the team.
The Dutchman was popular in Nigeria having led the country’ s U-23 side to win the gold medal in the football event of the Atlanta ’96 Olympic Games.
He was also in charge when the Super Eagles came second at the 2000 Africa Cup of Nations co-hosted by Nigeria and Ghana.
Although the Nigeria Football Federation are on the verge of naming Sunday Oliseh as the replacement for the sacked Stephen Keshi, Bonfrere insists he is interested. Bonfrere divulged to completesportsnigeria.com that he has the right quality to revitalize the team.
“I’m interested in managing the Super Eagles again,” he told the completesportsnigeria.com from his base in Holland.
“It’s important for the NFF to hire a good coach who is experienced and also with good knowledge of Nigerian football.
“I believe I have all these qualities to make the Super Eagles great again.
“The performance of the team is not what it used to be, but if the right things are done the Super Eagles will surely fly again.
“I feel sad when I see the team play these days.”
