Algeria have been handed a major boost ahead of next month's 2018 World Cup qualifier against Nigeria after Girondins Bordeaux's Adam Ounas opted to play for the Fennecs rather that France, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The 19-year-old, who was in the stands last Sunday to watch Algeria held to a 1-1 draw at home to Cameroon at the Mustapha Tchaker stadium in Blida, scored five goals last season for Bordeaux in his debut season and has since featured six times this term.
He is still expecting the final clearance from FIFA later this week.
According to lexpressiondz.com, Ounas has agreed officially to play for Algeria and will be invited for the game billed for the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Saturday, 12 November.
His inclusion will further boost Algeria's midfield ahead of their trip to Nigeria.
Algeria have won four of their last ten away fixtures, losing three and drawing three.
