New Celtic signing, Dedryck Boyata, has thanked Nigerian defender, Efe Ambrose, for helping him settle down in the club.
Boyata, who left Manchester City for the reigning Scottish champions this summer, also hailed the duo of Charlie Mulgrew and Virgil van Dijk for making him feel at home.
Boyata will fight for a a spot in central defence with the Super Eagles star.
“He (van Dijk) has helped to make it easy but players like Charlie Mulgrew and Efe Ambrose have been very good to me too,” Boyata told Glasgow Evening Times. “This is a strong squad and the players here are good enough to play Champions League football.”
Meanwhile, Celtic defeated Qarabag 1-0 in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League qualifier on Wednesday, with Boyata getting the goal, while Ambrose was an unused substitute.
They will kick off the defence of the league title this weekend when they welcome Ross County.
