Nigerian striker Bright Dike has expressed his delight after joining Russian Premier League side Amkar Perm.
Dike, who broke into the Super Eagles squad under Stephen Keshi, penned a one-and-a-half-year deal late on Friday night.
The deal was brokered by Emeka Ezeala, former technical assistant to ex-Super Eagles coach Berti Vogts.
Dike,29, who turned out for Portlant Timbers in the USA Major League Soccer, took to Twitter to confirm the move.
“I’m extremely happy and proud to sign with @fc_amkar, Thank you God,” Dike tweeted along with a picture of him holding his new shirt with his name written in Russian. “And my name looks pretty nice in Russian!”
Amkar Perm is Dike’s first club in Europe as he has previously spent all his career in the United States, playing for the Timbers and the Toronto FC (Canadian team in the MLS).
The US-born striker also played for the Indiana Invaders, Los Angeles Blues and San Antonio Scorpions in the US lower leagues.
