Nigerian striker Osaze Odemwingie scored a second-half equaliser on Tuesday night as Bristol City fought back to earn a point at home against Rotherham United to the delight of his coach Lee Johnson.
The strike was his second for the club since joining on loan from Stoke for the remainder of the season.
“It was a clinical finish from Peter,” Johnson told reporters after the match. “He worked his socks off in a helter-skelter game. After being one down at half-time it’s a decent point.”
Matt Derbyshire had put the visitors ahead in the 12th minute before Odemwingie smashed home a 54th minute leveller in the box to earn his side a share of the spoils and move his team seven points ahead of the relegation zone.
Odemwingie could have sealed all three points for the hosts in the 78th minute when his header was excellently stopped by Lee Camp in goal for Rotherham United.
The former Super Eagles striker was replaced in the 80th minute by Jonathan Kodjia in what was his fifth game in the Championship.Jiji.ng the cheapest online shopping in Nigeria.
