CAF Champs League/ Confed Cup: Enyimba, Nasarawa Win; Warri Wolves Lose At Home

Nigeria champions, Enyimba trounced Vital'0 of Burundi 5-1 in the first leg of their CAF Champions League first round fixture at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt on Sunday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

Chukwude Stephen started the rout when he put the Peoples Elephant ahead in the 21 minute following a fantastic work by Mfon Udoh and Christian Pyagbara.

Udoh increased the lead few minutes later with Chukwude getting his second of the day seven minutes before the break.

Udoh got his second of the evening in the 56th minute as Enyimba turned the heat on the visitors.

Hussein Shaban pulled a goal back for Vital'0 14 minutes from time.

Ugochukwu Leonard came off the bench to restored Enyimba's four goals lead in the 83rd minute.

Nigeria's other representative in the Champions League, Warri Wolves lost 1-0 at home against Sudanese side, Al- Merreikh.

In the CAF Confederation Cup, Nasarawa  United secured a slim 1-0 win against 10-man Club Sportif  Constantine of Algeria.

Philip Azango scored the  winning goal for Nasarawa United four minutes from time.

The Solid Miners beat AS Academie Generation Foot of Senegal 2-1 at the same venue in the preliminary round before holding  on for a goalless draw   in the return leg.
