Vipers Sports Club coach, George ‘Best’ Nsimbe, believes his side were unlucky to have lost out to Enyimba in their CAF Champions League preliminary round fixture, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The Ugandan champions lost 2-1 on aggregate to the two-time winners of the competition, putting up a brave fight in both legs.
Nsimbe praised his side for their fighting spirit, insisting the experience of playing in the competition for the first time will serve them well in future.
“I must say we gave our all over the two legs, but we were unlucky not to make it to the next round at the end of the day,” Nsimbe told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“My boys stood up to Enyimba in the second leg and were unlucky not to get a positive result from the game.
“It was our first time in the competition and we hope to make a return next year.
“We have learnt a lot playing against one of the best sides in Africa and the experience will be useful for us in future.”
