Chairman of Nasarawa United Isaac Danladi has expressed confidence that his team will advance at the expence of AS Academie General Foot of Senegal in their CAF Confederation Cup first round second leg clash on Sunday in Dakar.
In the first leg played in Abuja, Nasarawa United won 2-1, thanks to goals from Seun Sogbeso and Tayo Fabiyi.
Speaking ahead of the game, Danladi told thenff.com that they were expecting a feisty encounter.
“We are expecting nothing short of victory from the game. I want to truly appreciate officials of the Embassy of Nigeria in Dakar, officials of Generation Foot and the Senegalese Football Federation for receiving our delegation at the airport in the early hours of Wednesday.
“Certainly, it is going to be a tough game. Of course, we are not expecting anything less. We are battle ready. Our delegation has since settled down and training is going on smoothly.
“We got a narrow win in the first leg, against our desire for a big win, but I can tell you that we are in Dakar to win. Generation Foot have to play and score, which means an open game. We will show our stuff.”
The winner between Nasarawa and General Foot, will take on Algeria's Constantinos next month.
Meanwhile, Enyimba will hope to overturn a 1-0 deficit when they host Vipers of Uganda in the CAF Champions League.
And Akwa United, with a 1-0 first leg advantage, welcome Vita Club Mokanda from the Democratic Republic of Congo in the Confederation Cup.
