Confederation of Africa Football (CAF), has sent a congratulatory message to the continent 's shining Stars in the ongoing UCL; Kelechi Iheanacho, Yaya Toure and Wilfred Bony whose contributions have been instrumental in Manchester City's qualification for the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League, for the very first time.
City edged Ukrainian side Dynamo Kyiv 3-1 on aggregate, to progress to the last eight.
Toure played the full 90 minutes of the match, Bony was benched throughout the encounter while Iheanacho was not in the squad for the quarter-final match.
Responding the players' achievement, CAF wrote on their official Twitter handle: "Congrats Yaya Toure, Wilfred Bony, Kelechi Iheanacho, helping Manchester City reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time."
Manchester City, the 2016 Capital One Cup winners, now joins Real Madrid, Wolfsburg, Benfica, Paris Saint-Germaine and Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals.
The remaining two quarter-finalists will emerge tonight after Barcelona Vs Arsenal and Bayern Munich Vs Juventus games.
