Cameroon head coach, Hugo Broos says his team's next two fixtures against perennial rivals, Nigeria will be decisive in their bid to make it to the 2018 World Cup in Russia, reports Completesportsnigeria.
The Indomitable Lions played out a disapppoiting 1-1 draw with Zambia at the Stade Ominisports Limbe on Saturday.
The result put them four points behind the Super Eagles who earned a sweet 3-1 home win against the continent's number one ranked team, Algeria also on Saturday and now top Group B with six points.
The Belgian who expressed disappointment with his side's performance against Chipolopolo stated they must win their next two games in the group to have a chance of making it to Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup.
"There is more work to be done. We had a very bad first half in addition, the free kick which caught the team off guard was as a result of lack of concentration," Broos told reporters in Limbe after the game against Zambia.
"But it shows us what we are capable of, and what we still have to do to improve ourselves.
" The next two months will be for the AFCON tournament in Gabon.
"However, before this game, we already that the matches against Nigeria would be decisive.
" We will have to win to have another chance to go to the World Cup. We have eight months to prepare."
Broos' side will face the Super Eagles in matchday- three of the qualifiers at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium , Uyo on August 24, 2017.
