By Johnny Edward:
Celtic first team coach John Kennedy has admitted that Nigeria defender Efe Ambrose has been outstanding for the team despite being left out of the squad in recent games.
Ambrose's last minute foul on Nicholson earned him his first ever red card in his club career in Saturday's goalless draw against Oshaniwa's club, Hearts, in the Scottish League. However, Kennedy believes the 26 year old defender is a true professional that has been unlucky to be left out of the starting X1.
Kennedy also adds that the AFCON winner is beginning to show his worth to the club despite the coach's preference of the injured Jozo Simunovic.
“The big positive is Efe has come in and done really well for us. He’s been patient," Kennedy begins in an interview with SkySports.
“He has found himself out of the team when maybe he thought he might have had a chance, but he has trained well and he has certainly come in and done a great job for us in recent weeks. So there is competition there as well.”
“He has done it under Neil Lennon for a long time,” added Kennedy. “He has made some errors in the past, as all players do. He has probably been unfortunate at times, to find himself out the team.
“But he is a great professional, a terrific player to work with, and when he concentrates he, can put in good performances like he has shown in recent weeks," the coach concludes.
The result took the champions Celtic to within four points of Aberdeen, who lost 2-1 at Inverness.Jiji.ng the cheapest online shopping in Nigeria.
