Newly crowned Glo Premier League champions, Enyimba, denied Sunshine Stars a continental ticket, holding the Owena Waves to a 0-0 draw at the Teslim Balogun Stadium on Sunday, reports Completesportsnigeria.
The Peoples Elephant who secured their seventh Glo Premier League title after a goalless draw against Warri Wolves last weekend and were presented with their trophy on Sunday, put up a lively display in the encounter, although they had to rely on their goalkeeper Femi Thomas to keep the hosts at bay on a couple of occasions.
The hosts failed to convert a host of goalscoring chances that came their way in the first half, while last season’s top scorer, Mfon Udoh, also came close to getting a goal late in the first half.
