Ahmed Musa says CSKA Moscow must avoid defeat in Wednesday's Champions League fixture against Wolfsburg to improve their chances of making it to the knockout stages of the competition, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The Russian side occupy last position in Group B with four points, three adrift of leaders Manchester United.
They will need to secure maximum points against the German side at the Arena Khimki to avoid exiting the competition at the group stage like they have done in the last three editions.
The Nigeria captain is however confident they can beat the Germans at home to earn their second win of the group stage.
"It's an important game for us and we are confident of getting a win against Wolfsburg," Musa told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"We want to go far in the competition and if we want to do that, we have to win the game which will definitely boost our chances of making it to to the next round."
Both sides head into the game in not too confident mood as they suffered losses in their league games at the weekend.
CSKA suffered their first home defeat in seven months at the weekend, while Wolfsburg were pummelled 6-0 by Werder Bremen.
