Home Eagles Edge CIV In CHAN Friendly

The home-based Super Eagles defeated Cote d'Ivoire 1-0 in an international friendly match played on Monday ahead of the Championship for African Nations in Rwanda.

Matthew Ifeanyi scored the only goal in the 45th minute at the University of Pretoria Stadium.

In their first friendly game against Angola, the game ended 1-1, with Bartholomew Ibenegbu scoring Nigeria's only goal from the penalty spot.

The team's first game comes up on Monday 18 January against Niger Republic.
Other teams in Nigeria's group are Tunisia and Guinea.
