Chelsea have offered captain John Terry a one-year contract extension, the club announced on Friday.
Terry, 35, had earlier been told this season would be his last one at Stamford Bridge.
But on the eve of the season’s last Premier League match, at home to champions Leicester, the club have had a change of heart.
It has been reported that incoming coach Antonio Conte wants Terry to be around the squad to help with his inside knowledge and experience.
Terry, who has openly declared that he wants to stay on, is reportedly considering the offer.
