Chelsea have overtaken Arsenal on the Forbes’ football rich list as Real Madrid have retained their place as the most valuable football team, despite a drop in figures, according to Forbes magazine.
The reigning European champions have seen their value drop by five per cent, but they are still worth £2.13bn and their £489m in revenue is the highest of any sports team in the world.
Spanish rivals Barcelona are second in the 2015 list with a value of £2.07bn followed by the Premier League’s most valuable team, Manchester United at £2.03bn.
What stands out in the list released is Chelsea’s rise above Arsenal. In the 2014 list, Arsenal were in 5th place with a value of $1.33bn, and that’s gone down slightly which defies the Forbes gravity law on football, although it could be down to currency fluctuations between the pound and dollar. Chelsea on the other hand have seen their value soar, in 2014 they were in 6th place with a value of $868m but have now risen hugely. Manchester City’s rise is bigger, from $863m to $1.38bn.
Chelsea’s income has risen to $526m per year and that’s compared to $487m at Arsenal, which would explain the Stamford Bridge club having a higher valuation. Yet again, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United stand out alone because of their huge commercial deals, even Bayern Munich struggle to get within touching distance. With 1xBet you get High Odds, Fast Payouts, Wide Selection of Sports Events, Online Streaming and Huge Bonuses... sign up now.
