By Adeboye Amosu:
Nigerian trio, Mikel Obi, Victor Moses and Kenneth Omeruo, have been retained by English Premier League club Chelsea for the 2016\ 2017 season, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The Premier League on Friday announed the list of players released and retained by all the clubs in the English top flight with the trio part of the Blues squad.
Despite making the list, they however face a difficult time in their bid to force their way into the plans of incoming boss Antonio Conte next term.
Mikel who enjoyed a decent run under interim boss Guus Hiddink last season will battle hard to cement a place in the side with the Blues expected to bring in some new midfielders ahead of the new campaign.
Moses who has spent the last three seasons on loan outside Stamford Bridge failed to impress last season with West Ham and is expected to be loaned out again.
The other Nigerian at the club, Omeruo, though did well with Turkish side Kasimpasa is not expected to earn a berth at the club under Conte.
He is also yet to play an official game for Chelsea.
