Chikatara: Abia Warriors Won’t Be Relegated

By Adeboye Amosu: Abia Warriors forward, Chisom Chikatara insists the club will maintain their top flight status at the end of the season despite a run of four games without a win, reports

The Umuahia- based outfit lost 2-1 against Rangers on Friday and currently sit in the13th position in the table.

Warriors could slip further down the table upon the completion of other week 26 games on Saturday and Sunday.

Chikatara is however confident they will‎ avoid demotion.

"It will be a disaster if we fail to stay up at the end of the season,"Chikatara who scored four goals for Nigeria at the African Nations Championship in Rwanda informed

"It's a shame that we couldn't get anything out of the game against Rangers despite all the efforts we put into the it.

"From now till the end of the season, we have to make sure we improve on our performance and get the needed points to stay up."
