South African club, Chippa United, are not in a hurry to rush their Nigerian international goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi back in action following his participation at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Akpeyi who won a bronze medal with the Nigeria U-23 side at the games is expected back at the club on Wednesday.
The former Warri Wolves goalie missed the start of the Absa Premiership season due to his international engagement.
Chippa United will next face Platinum Stars in an MTN 8 quarter-final fixture on Saturday and handler of the side, Dan Malesela, is unsure if the shot stopper will feature in the game.
"It's no secret that Daniel is our first choice goalkeeper, but whether he plays will depend on how he feels," Malesela told reporters after his side's 2-1 win against Free State Stars on Tuesday.
"He is coming back across several time zones, it has been a long travel for him and we have to see whether he can play.
"He didn't have much game time in Brazil. I'm not sure we will make a change even though there were a few goalkeeping errors."
Akpeyi featured only once for Nigeria in Brazil.
