Former National team coach Christian Chukwu says the effort made by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF to appoint ex-international Sunday Oliseh as replacement for sacked Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi, is the best for Nigeria, Complete Sports can report.
Speaking to Complete Sports on Wednesday, the former Kenya National team coach said there is a need to give Oliseh a chance to manage the senior national team.
"I think Oliseh is the best for the Super Eagles for now and i will like to congratulate him in advance. He has played the game before and also knows what it takes to manage our players, so giving him a chance to manage the team will be a welcome idea on the part of the FA," says Chukwu.
The FA last Saturday sacked Keshi over what it described as unethical and unprofessional conduct on the part of the coach who claimed his agent had submitted application to the Ivorien FA without his knowledge.
Chuwku however warned that the FA should ensure that the former Super Eagles captain is given contract conditions that will help him to move the country's football forward in order to avoid crisis in the nearest future.
"What I can say now is that the NFF should make sure that Oliseh is given condition that will not be too difficult for him to meet, so that he can use his experience to move Nigerian football forward," he concludes.
