Confed Cup: Akwa United Grab Away Win Vs Congo’s Vita

Akwa United bosted their chances of qualifying for the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup with a key away win on Saturday.
The Nigerian Federation Cup winners defeated Congo’s Vita Club Mokanda 1-0 to take a lead into the return leg.
Ubong Ekpai scored the all-important Akwa United goal in the 37th minute and the Nigerians held on for the win.
The return leg takes place at the Akwa Ibom Stadium in Uyo in two weeks’ time.
Akwa United qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup by defeating Lobi Stars in the Federation Cup final in Lagos.
On Sunday, Nigeria’s other representatives in the competition, Nasarawa United, will host Senegalese side, AS Academie Generation Foot, at the Abuja National Stadium.
