Nasarawa United defender, Samson Gbadebo, believes the side can make a big impact in the CAF Confederation Cup this year after they saw off the challenge of Senegalese outfit, AS Academie Generation Foot, on Saturday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The Solid Miners who are making their second appearance in the competition booked their passage into the first round after a 2-1 aggregate win.
They win next face Constantine of Algeria and to win the competition, they still have to come up against some established teams on the continent.
But the centre-back who joined Kabiru Dogo’s men from Lobi Stars is unperturbed about what lies ahead for his side.
“Playing on the continent is not an easy task, but we proved we are equal to the task with our performance on Saturday,” he told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“We now know what it takes to play in a competition like this and the experience will help us in subsequent games.
“I believe we can do well in the competition with the quality of players we have in the team.
“It’s still a long way to go, but we will give our all.”
