Croatia midfielder, Luka Ivanusec, has stated that they will be banking on their win against the Golden Eaglets to beat Mali in their quarter-final clash at the on-going FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile.
Croatia defeated the Eaglets 2-1 in their last group game to qualify for the second round.
And in their second round clash against Germany, they triumphed 2-0, and will take on Mali for a place in the semi-final.
In an interview with FIFA.com, Ivanusec said the two victories they secured in their last two games will serve as a morale boost going into the game against Mali.
“The wins against Nigeria and Germany have given us more confidence. We know, though, that if we want to beat Mali, we have to be strong.
“As long as we do what the coach tells us, we’re convinced we can win, but we know it’s going to be a very tough game. Mali are a good side, perhaps even a bit better than Germany. Even so, we’ll be doing all we can to beat them.”
