Players and coaches of Nigerian National League side, Crown FC of Ogbomoso, are being owed five months salaries and eight match bonuses, Completesportsnigeria.com can report.
Just as Glo Premier League side Warri Wolves’ players are being owed a backlog of salaries and have protested to the Delta State Government, Crown FC players intend to stage a protest in the coming days to demand for their entitlements, a club official revealed.
“Part of the reasons the club failed to gain promotion was their failure to motivate the boys when we had few games left to nick a promotional slot,” the club official told Complete sportsnigeria.com.
“There was no source of motivation and with the new policies being employed by the Nigerian Football Federation such shameful act must stop.”
Completesportsnigeria.com also spoke to some players of the team regarding their unpaid salaries and they all confirmed it but also pleaded not to be quoted.
“It was painful not to celebrate Sallah the way a good Muslim should and that was down to our salaries not paid,” one Crown FC midfielder said when asked.
