Tunisian club, CS Sfaxien, have continued to sign Nigerian players despite being in a collision course with the stakeholders over debts they have incurred earlier in the signing of two Nigerian players; Junior Ajayi and Kingsley Sokari, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
A competent source close to the players informs Completesportsnigeria.com that CS Sfaxien have defaulted twice in meeting up financial commitments as regards the transfer fee to Ajayi's club, 36 Lions, and also the player's signing-on fee.
Completesportsnigeria.com's findings confirm that, in spite of their current financial imbroglio, Sfaxien have gone ahead to sign Nigeria's FIFA U-17 World Cup winner, Lukman Zakari, from Unity Academy, Kaduna in a deal believed to be worth $500,000, to both the player and the academy outfit.
Sfaxien, who have joined a growing list of Tunisian clubs that renege on agreements are also owing the agents that arranged the deal that saw Kingsley Sokari joining them from Enyimba of Aba in December 2015.
"CS Sfaxien first pledged to offset their debts to Ajayi and 36 Lions before November 30 2015, but they lated shifted payment date to the end of January 2016," our source recounts, on condition on anonymity.
"But up till last night February 15, Sfaxien were still playing hide and seek with player and club chairman, Alhaji Liameed Gafar. In fact, parties are now threatening to take the matter to FIFA."
The source would also reveal that the Sfax side had also gone into a written agreement to pay the agents who brokered the Sokari deal by December 25 2015. After failing to meet up with the payment, CS Sfaxien rescheduled the payment to January 31. But, like the Ajayi case, they also failed to pay.
