CSKA Moscow manager Leonid Slutsky has revealed that he is satisfied with the performance of new signing Aaron Samuel despite his not being fully fit.
The Nigerian international, who signed on loan with the Russian league leaders until the end of the season from Chinese side Guangzhou R&F, replaced Ahmed Musa in the friendly and missed a chance to score in CSKA's 2-1 win over Dinamo Moscow in a friendly game in Marbella.
But Slutsky believes the burly forward will be a handful for defenders of opposing teams in the league when it kicks off.
"He did his best at this stage," Slutsky told CSKA Moscow's website. "He only joined our team before the third training camp and he's not in top condition. He missed a lot and didn't play recently in China.
"Aaron is a powerful striker and in my opinion will keep defenders on their toes. Today he had a good chance which he should've taken. We're not up to speed just yet."
Aaron is one of the several Nigerian internationals yet to feature for the national team since Sunday Oliseh took charge of the Super Eagles.
