Dalung Denies Backing NFF On Foreign Coach For Eagles

By Johnny Edward:

Nigeria's minister of youth and sports, Solomon Dalung, has denied supporting the Nigerian Football Federation's plan to recruit a foreign coach for the Super Eagles.

Dalung insisted he is yet to be convinced by the NFF on the need to hire a foreign coach for the team.

“I have never given an approval for the recruitment of a foreign coach,” Dalung said.

“So, if I am understood to have endorsed a foreign coach, I think it’s a misconception.

“I haven’t endorsed a foreign coach, but I am still demanding a convincing reason I should believe in a foreign coach.

“And they are yet to convince me as to why a foreign coach is the best,"

  1. First I have to commend CompleteSports for diaplaying Dalung in a new dress. Not just a new pix but a very cute one. We are tired of seeing him in Khaki and red beret. A unionist. I will also support Dalung on his statement that he did not at anytme support the NFF on a foreign coach hiring or rent. He asked Pinnick Amaju to go back and put in writing how he will pay the foreign coach when he could not pay the cheaper local coaches. Mr. Solomon Dalung, hold on tight. Nigeria and the Super Eagles does not need a foreign coach now, yesterday or tomorrow. In fact, some of us want it as a law passed by the senate that never will the NFF discuss anything like employing a foreign coach. End of matter.

The foreign coaches have no good resumes in Nigeria. Even before Westerhof or Bonfere Jo achievement both men were there on the jobs for five good years or more. Which of the indigenous coach has been given such opportunities and they failed to succeeded? The answer is none! But the reasons no numbers of NFF wants any Nigerians coaches, because as a Nigerian you may know the minister or you may know someone’s who may know some top officials of which an indigenous coaches can pass through them to reports to the top officials. Something like this, numbers of NFF will fight this with the last dropped of their blood. At least, Nigerians can still remembered in Africa Cup in South Africa which Nigeria won, that time our boys and the back room staffers weren’t getting paid because someone’s forgot their money in the locker box in Abuja and traveled to the Afcon venue. So all these nonsensical comments and shameful excuses, Sylvanus Okpalla who assistant to Coach Stephen Keshi wrote to Patrick Ekeji who is at the head then, NNF got offended and fired Okpalla right there in South Africa. They told Nigerians that his salary was too much, that they can’t aword to pay him.And when the governor’s of his state heard about this, he requested to picked up Sylvanus Okpalla’s bills, yet NFF refused that overture made by the Governor, only to turned around to tell Nigerians another liars that they fired Okpalla for in suburditions, that if his state governor pays his salary that it will make things worst!Because Okpalla’s will never respects them or their policies, they said at last! But at first, the same NFF said that had no money to pay Quick Sylvia! When Coach Sunday Olise said that the NFF didn’t want Super Eagles to succeed, I knew his was right. Because those people are only after their own pockets. Okay look at a time like now, Giwa is taken NFF to court! What did they want to achieve? Is it for Nigeria interest or their own personal pockets? Is Giwa ignorant of the FIFA rules, If likes. Nigeria is this the best time to take Pinnick Amaju to the law court?

Because they were both good footballers and they understood how soccer businesses should be ran, unlike their pay masters who may be political opportunists! Where we have all these tournaments of all the age graders of football matches on our hands. Both men and women teams have one tournaments or the other in both world and continents and Giwa will go to court with the pre knowledged that Nigeria will be banned by FIFA for interference!
