Dani Alves has revealed that he is a big fan of LeBron James after picking the No.23 shirt at new club Juventus in honour of the basketball superstar.
The 33-year-old Brazil international was officially announced as a Juventus player on Monday after signing a two-year deal with the Old Lady.
Alves, who spent eight years with Barcelona and won every trophy, spoke about his Juve move on Tuesday.
“I’ve picked the number 23 shirt,” Alves told Juventus’ official website. “LeBron James is someone I admire for the way he constantly reinvents himself and never rests on his laurels, always aiming for new challenges and triumphs.
“After leaving Miami, where he was enjoying a good career, he’s come back with a bang and reinvented himself. It’s a decision that brought about my choice to move to a new country, meet new team-mates and experience another type of football.”
LeBron, 31, recently helped Cleveland Cavaliers win the city’s first professional sports title in 52 years, when they overcame a 3-1 deficit in the NBA Finals to defeat the Golden State Warriors in the seven-game series.
