Disu Tasks Home-Based Stars On 2017 AFCON Qualifiers

By Izuchukwu Okosi:

Former Flying Eagles and Super Eagles star Tajudeen Disu has hailed the team list released by Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi on Thursday evening ahead of the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiers and has charged the home-based players to challenge their foreign-based teammates for starting shirts in the game against Chad.

Keshi named a 26-man home-based players for training camp ahead of the match to hold at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna on June 13 and Disu bared his mind to Completesportsnigeria.com.

"There are interesting names on the list; those making a comeback and those getting invited for the first time," Disu stated.

"Well my advise to the home-based is to train and work according to the instructions of the coaches. Stephen Keshi has a lot of belief in the abilities of these home-based lads and they must make use of the opportunity."

Disu who played for the Eagles in the mid 80s further expressed his confidence that the Eagles will take their 2017 AFCON qualifiers seriously and avoid the mistakes that led to the inability to qualify for the 2015 tournament in Equatorial Guinea.
