CAF Confederation Cup campaigners Dolphins have signed Bayelsa United striker Peter Ebimobowei to replace Emem Eduok, who is on his way to Tunisian club Esperance.
The Port Harcourt club have thus beaten Warri Wolves, Enyimba and Abia Warriors to the Bayelsa United star striker.
The striker, who netted 18 goals last season to help Bayelsa United escape relegation, has also been registered by the Stanley Eguma-tutored side for the CAF Confederation Cup, Africanfootball.com can exclusively report.
Top official of the former Nigeria league champions confirmed to AfricanFootball.com:”We have signed him for the club.
“We see him as a perfect replacement for Emem Eduok, who is on his way out of the club.
“Emem got 25 goals in all competition last season and Peter got 18, without a penalty goal. So, we think he has the capacity to fill the vacuum that the absence of Emem would create.
“We are happy we were able to sign him on the last day of the CAF licensing for the Confederation Cup.”
Dolphins will face Equatorial Guinea champions in the preliminary stage of the Confederation Cup.
