Super Eagles players insist they will cope with playing on an artificial turf against Swaziland in Friday's 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Handler of the side, Sunday Oliseh, recently expressed concern over the suitability of the playing surface, which according to him could hinder the performance of his players, the majority of whom are based abroad.
But the players who had a feel of the Somholo National Stadium turf on Thursday evening few hours after their arrival in the Southern African country claim they are fully ready for the task ahead.
"We don't have any problem playing on an artificial turf," Enyimba winger, Ezekiel Bassey, told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"We trained on the pitch yesterday and none of us (the players) complained about whether the pitch is natural or artificial.
"The only thing we are thinking about at the moment is the game and nothing else."
Bassey's home-based colleague, Austin Obaroakpo, also shared the same sentiment.
"We know before the game that we will be playing on an artificial turf and we are fully ready for the challenge," he said.
