Super Eagles defender Elderson Echiejile is delighted to be back in action for AS Monaco after missing his side’s last three games.
The Nigeria international played his first Coupe de France game for Monaco who dumped Nimes out of the competition with a 2-0 win at the at the Stade des Costières on Sunday.
“We started the new year on a winning note. Good to be back playing again.” Echiejile tweeted.
Echiejile has scored once in seven Ligue 1 appearances for Monaco who sit fifth with 32 points from 19 games.
It would be recalled that the 26-year old defender is one of the two Nigerians left in this season’s UEFA Champions League.
In what could be seen as a largely fair draw for the former Sc Braga star, his Monaco teammates have been drawn to face EPL giants Arsenal while John Mikel Obi’s Chelsea have a date with PSG as they target to go beyond the Round of 16.
