Rivers United coach Stanley Eguma says his side must now concentrate on picking a continental ticket following Saturday’s 1-0 defeat against Sunshine Stars in a Nigeria Professional Football League matchday 28 fixture, reports Completesportsnigeria.com
Despite the defeat, the Pride of Rivers remain in the third position, three points behind joint-leaders, Wikki Tourists and Enugu Rangers.
Eguma however believes it is important for his side to keep working hard until the end of the campaign despite the setback.
“We must work hard and try to win the title or at the very least, get a ticket to represent the country on the continent next season,” he stated.
“It was a good game and we prepared very hard to win as a good result would have helped our position on the log.
“We have lost now and must look ahead because the league is getting tougher.”
