Egypt winger Mostafa Fathi has been ruled out of Friday's 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Super Eagles in Kaduna.
According to Kingfut.com, Fathi, who plays for top Egyptian side Zamalek, sustained a lower abdominal muscle injury in Monday's training.
It was gathered that Fathi had started to feel the pain on the team bus prior to training and was excluded from the training.
Despite reports that Fathi is set to undergo fitness tests on Tuesday to determine the extent of the injury, it is believed there's zero chance for the player making the trip to Nigeria.
And following the injury to Fathi, Al Ahly player Momen Zakaria is likely to be called up as his replacement.
Meanwhile, the Egyptians are expected to be in Kaduna on Wednesday on a chartered flight.
Egypt are top of Group G with six points from two games, while Nigeria are second on four points from the same number of games.
