Former Nigeria international, Friday Ekpo, has called on the Nigeria Football Federation to organise quality friendly games for the Super Eagles before the next fixtures of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in August 2017, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The Eagles top Group B on six points after securing two wins from two games and are four points ahead of second placed Cameroon.
They will host Cameroon on August 28, 2017 on matchday-3 of the qualifiers.
Ekpo, a bronze medal winner at the 1992 Africa Cup of Nations, urged the NFF to make sure the Eagles are kept busy before the next the match ib the qualifiers.
"I will advice the Nigeria Football Federation to take every necessary steps to make sure the Super Eagles take advantage of the FIFA calender," Ekpo told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"They should make sure the Eagles play quality international friendly games to keep them in shape.
"Also, the coach has to go round and monitor the players because while playing for their club sides, injury might set in. So he would have the opportunity to look for replacements.
"He should also make the team very competitive so as to bring the best out of the players in the course of the qualifiers.
