Victor Moses and Emmanuel Emenike were on target on Saturday as West Ham hammered Blackburn Rovers 5-1in their FA Cup fifth round clash.
Moses opened the scoring for West Ham with the equaliser in the 26th minute after the hosts had gone ahead through Ben Marshall six minutes earlier, while Emenike grabbed his first two goals for the Hammers.
The impressive Dimitri Payet added the other two goals as West Ham United booked their place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
Emenike, who was on from the start, got his first West Ham goal in the 64th to make the score 3-1, after a sublime Payet freekick had made put West Ham ahead.
The retired Nigeria international completed his brace in the 85th minute and was denied a hat-trick whenhos other goal was disallowed.
Both sides ended the tie with 10 men at Ewood Park.
Despite the one-sided nature of the scoreline, it was actually the Championship hosts that broke the deadlock in Lancashire with 20 minutes played. Ben Marshall’s low shot from 20 yards out looked to be lacking in power, but it still crept inside Darren Randolph’s near post.
However, the lead lasted for just six minutes as an error from Blackburn goalkeeper Jason Steele saw Victor Moses’s effort squirm into the net.
Moses has now scored 5 goals in his last 14 FA Cup appearances since January 2013.
