Stripped Super Eagles captain Vincent Enyeama has called it quits from the senior national team, two days after having a bust-up with coach Sunday Oliseh.
The Lille goalkeeper took to his Instagram wall to announce the news after he was informed he wasn’t in the starting line-up for the Thurday evening game against DR Congo.
He wrote: “I have fought a good fight for more than 13 years, I have finished my course. I have kept the faith and sang the anthem with passion, henceforth there is laid for me which only God can reward me for the 13 years of service.
“I am no more the captain of the Nigeria senior football. I am no more the goalie of the team,I am out of the team.
“I am no more available for international. I want to say thank you to every Nigerian fans and supporters worldwide. It’s the most trying period of my life and I know Nigerians are there for me with God.”God bless Nigeria. #End of an era.”
