Enyeama Saves Lille, Mikel Off Chelsea Bench, Ighalo Misfires

By James Agberebi:

Super Eagles skipper, Vincent Enyeama, was in action for Lille and kept another clean sheet as they were held 0-0 at home to Bordeaux. It was Enyeama’s third game for Lille this new campaign.

Mikel Obi was introduced in the 84th minute for new signing Pedro Rodriguez as Chelsea earned their first league victory of the season after beating West Brom 3-2.

It was Mikel’s first game this season, while his Nigerian team-mate, Victor Moses, was not listed for the match due to an injury.

Brown Ideye and Victor Anichebe were not in action for the Baggies. Anichebe was an unused substitute while Ideye was not in the squad for the game.

Nigerian youngster, Kelechi Iheancho, was once again an unused substitute in Manchester City’s 2-0 against Everton at the Goodison Park.

Iheanacho was also on the bench for Manchester City in their two previous league games against West Brom and Chelsea.

And at the Vicarage Road, Odion Ighalo, featured for Watford, but couldn’t get on the score sheet, as they were forced to a goalless by Southampton.

It would be recalled that Ighalo scored on his Premier League debut, when he struck in Watford’s 2-2 draw away to Everton.
